Timberline Fire Protection District


Timberline Fire Protection District (TFPD) was formed on April 1, 2011 when Colorado Sierra Fire Protection District was included into the High Country Fire Protection District. The current district coverage area is mountainous and includes both Gilpin and Boulder Counties. We are located approximately 30 miles west of the Denver/Boulder metropolitan area.

Timberline spans the Peak to Peak Highway between the cities of Black Hawk and Nederland and is 60 minutes from world class skiing at Keystone and Breckenridge Resorts. We cover approximately 63 square miles with an estimated population of 4,500 residents.

Overview
Timberline Fire Protection District (TFPD) was formed on April 1, 2011 when Colorado Sierra Fire Protection District was included into the High Country Fire Protection District. The current district coverage area is mountainous and includes both Gilpin and Boulder Counties.   The department is a Combination Department consisting of 4 employees and approximately 60 volunteers operating out of 8 stations.
